President’s Message: Dr. George Annor
This is to welcome you to the 2020 - 2021 year of the Minnesota Section of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)!
As the new president of MNIFT, I am very conscious of my responsibilities as outlined in our bylaws and will also strive to continue working on the efforts and achievements of my recent predecessors.
As we are all aware, the ongoing COVID -19 pandemic has resulted in significant changes in our way of life. These changes will obviously impact our scheduled activities and financial standing in the coming year. More information about events this year and what they will look like will be communicated through our regular newsletters.
As we begin the 2020 -2012 year, it is important to mention that it is only through dedicated leadership that we will be able to meet the needs of our members to provide a safe, healthy and sustainable food supply, especially during these uncertain times.
Even though, the upcoming year seem uncertain due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I will work diligently to reduce the expected COVID-19 pandemic impacts on that the activities and financial standing of MNIFT. This will be pursued with inputs from our strong leadership team and committees that have very capable and willing chairs and volunteers.
A very special thank you to these individuals and groups who will work toward the overall goals of the Minnesota Section.

These are uncertain times for the Minnesota Section of IFT but together we overcome whatever obstacles the COVID-19 pandemic throws at us.
