Topic: Overcoming Product Development Obstacles

As new food technology professionals, when one enters into the Research and Product Development jobs, the early challenges that one might face can be managed with adequate preparations.

Join the MN Section IFT, and Ms. Andrea Stetzer from Hormel Foods as she will discuss about the pitfalls and troubleshooting the product development process and provide pointers for overcoming product development obstacles.

Dr. Andrea J. StetzerSpeaker: Dr. Andrea J. Stetzer, PhD, CFS

Dr Andrea Stetzer is the Marketing Manager for Hormel Foods Ingredient Solutions Team. She has over ten years of experience in product development at Hormel working with shelf stable grocery products along with flavored and enhanced meat products focusing on improving shelf life, product safety and consumer acceptability. She grew up on beef and sheep farm in Wisconsin.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, she worked for PIC in Wisconsin and Kentucky as a Management Trainee, Inventory Manager, and Food Scientist. Dr Stetzer holds a Doctorate in Food Science and a Master of Science in Animal Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists and American Meat Science Association. She earned her Certified Food Scientist credential in 2014.
